Jackie Carelli

Who I Am…

Jackie Carelli is a New Jersey based dance educator in both public and private settings. She currently is the dance educator at Abraham Clark High School, located in Roselle, New Jersey. She is a graduate of the Rutgers Graduate School of Education, obtaining a Master’s in Dance Education, for grades K-12 public and private schools. She completed her full-time student teaching internship at John F. Kennedy Memorial High School, located in Iselin, NJ, under the mentorship of Michelle Perosi. Prior to returning for her graduate degree, she graduated from Rutgers Mason Gross in 2017 with a BFA in dance. During her undergraduate career, she has performed for artists such as Twyla Tharp and Brain Brooks, as well presented choreography. Jackie spent her entire junior year of undergrad abroad, studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, located in London, England. While studying in London, she interned for Candoco Dance Company, a multi-(dis)ability dance company. Jackie has extensive teaching experience in the private sector, instructing ages 2 ½ to 21 years of age.  For two years she instructed as a paraprofessional and dance teacher for the New Road School of Somerset, located in Somerset, NJ, a school for young adults with mental, emotional, and physical differences. Jackie has been teaching in private studios for eight years and is currently staff for two dance studios in New Jersey. Jackie is a certified acrobatics instructor through Acrobatics Arts Modules 1 and 2. She is also a certified 200-hour yoga instructor through OM Factory NYC.  Prior to attending university and obtaining multiple certifications, Jackie graduated from Somerset County Vocational Technical High School’s Gifted and Talented Dance Program, as well as Bridgewater-Raritan High School. She has received additional dance training at summer and winter programs such as American Dance Festival, The Joffrey Ballet School, and 10 Hairy Legs.
